belonephobia..

Salam everyone :)
I`m now in a 12 hours transit at Changi International Airport, Singapore and it is damn boring here :( ...
I wandered around and was quite amazed by the facilities here especially the gym..wahaha :)
Actually I was thinking of going for sight seeing outside the airport but after lunch (god the food at the cafe and fast food restaurants are unreasonably expensive.. thank god anah's mum packed scrambled eggs and bread for us..alhamdulillah..kenyang..tq maklong )everybody was in the mood of going nowhere but to sit around and relax .. ouh, by relax I mean to get my greenysteel working..:P. Thanks to Changi International Airport wireless internet connection.

So, what with belonephobia? haha..actually I was reading some medical journals on the net, searching for any interesting info for my other (shared) blog ; 3m but then I found an interesting article that I would like to share with DOM readers on belonephobia. Belonephobia is a marked and persistent fear of needles or any sharp object. People with belonephobia when exposed to anything associated with needle will almost immediately feel anxious and may even develop a panic attack. Their heart rate and blood pressure will increase and they will even faint. Studies shown that belonephobia afflicts up to 10% of the population.. huhu..I believe I`m not one of them and I do not have much experience with the needles though. I had once donated blood during the Gaza conflicts for the Palestinians and I was quite nervous at first but everything went fine and I even looked at the big needle when the nurse inserted it into my arm..yeay, I don`t have belonephobia!

I believe some of us think that the extreme fear of needles is unreasonable but actually people with belonephobia usually have unpleasant experience with needles or pointed object such as a deep numbing injection pain. . .
So, what would you suggest to belonephobic people when they require procedures that use needles?

I would like to share mine but Anah is waiting for me for our Asar prayer .. next time maybe..
Pray for my safe journey okey..:)

Revive

After reading an article written by Sulaiman Dufford in Milenia Muslim , June 2008 titled "The art of Self-Protection", I'm quite interested in what he mentioned about " Surviving as a muslim in a modern world ";

"Muslim can only secure their  personal and community protection by living and exemplifying the islamic model of multicultural of pluralism by taking the best worlds and cultures while maintaining the firm sense of islamic identity and self esteem"  -Sulaiman Dufford-

Yes, I totally agree with the idea .This is what we called the eclectic method (if I'm not mistaken). In reviving  the Islamic culture, Moslems have to make a Tajdid (renewal) process  by taking and maintaning the fundamental values of islam without abandoning the "objectives of syaria" [maqasid syaria] and assimilate/acclimate with the modern world's culture.

In my point of view, the real problem is most of the people have a misundestanding in  differentiating between this method and the doctrine of  Liberal islam. In Islam, there are still spaces to make an aberration as the time and space changed as long as the basic of maqasid syaria are preserved.

Being a moderate Muslim is totally different from a liberal muslim.

Messy

Hush,
My mind is so messy right now.
Just want to express it here. (Ho3-Do I misuse this blog?)

Maybe it is because of several factors.
1) Holiday is end
2) I still haven't completed my work, but syukur at least I still got time to do coz the due date is on friday.
3) Feel quite nervous to start back my class. (nonsense right? but that's what I am)
4) Friends. Hm, suddenly I feel I'm not a good friend to all my friends. Don't know. Sometimes, I love to keep silent, don't really like to socialise. Sometimes. Does that rude?? Huh~
Maybe I have to learn to appreciate friends. (Muhasabah mode)
But I did/do socialise with others when I'm free. But don't know, suddenly I feel I'm not a good friends to others.

Anyone can help me to vanish my worry?
Huh~. Thanks a lot.

P/s- sorry if my writing is so messy. This is due to messy thinking right now. I'm to learn..........

Best regards,
fieqa

revolution

Bismillah

Hm, I don't really know on what to post.
By the way, I just realise something after reading few posts in this blog.
Hm,if i've anything that came across my mind, I can just express 'them' in this blog right??
especially when the matter is not really related to 'religious' matter, (not saying that I'm secular in certain things, but most of the time, when updating my primary blog (the labyrinth of pious) Itry my best to relate the content of the blog to our islamic teaching or anything that can bring the readers closer to God..insyaALLAH..(i'm trying..........)

okayh! back to our discussion.
btw, why the topic of this post is revolution?
Hm..not really revolution..but I just realise (in this 3rd semester perhaps), after going through this TESL programme for 3 semesters, what this course needsand focuses are to develop our critical thinking. For your information, we don't really have so much examination, as what our trend in education is, but the stress is more towards developing critical thinking among the learners.
especially, when we study/learn on social studies subject, the urge is more towards developing our thinking rather that memorising the facts.
and if you can
clearly digest on this quote,

"develop students who know on how to think rather than what to think"

as what we can see the trend in education in Malaysia is more towards exam oriented, where the students are being evaluated by the results in examination and the amount of A's in examination.

okayh2..
I know. Some may feel irritating with my words,
but, after having gone through this course, somehow it changes my perception a lot!
especially, when it comes to education issues and so on.

and, one thing to bear in mind is, the approach of any course may differ to one another.
e.g- science stream may needs a lot of examination to let the students to be 'serious' with the theories, and maybe for art stream, the approach is different. :) (fair??..hehe)

Oh, I run out of time.
I will update later about this matter ya!
insyaALLAH.

if anything that comes across your mind, quickly click on the 'correction' tab below.
highly appreciated.
I would appreciate if you could respond to this post, for at least to let me know on your own views and opinion regarding to this issue. hehe..:)

syukran.
thanks.

p/s- to the ADMIN, could you give me the format of the post in this blog. (e.g - font used, size and also the colour).
I wouldn't want to be the 'clown' in this blog.hehe..=p

best regards,
fieqa.

+ 6 DAYS

[Abu Ayyoub reported that the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadhan and then follows it by fasting six days during the month of Shawwal will be rewarded as if he had fasted the entire year. [Muslim, at-Tirmithi, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawood and Ahmad by way of Jabir].

let us grab the great virtue of fasting six days in syawal.you do want to do some savings for the 'later', dont you?

mommyhood:it just a matter of impatience

i was talking to my friend, shafinaz, on the way we went to jitra.
our conversation was then dragged into talking about having babies.

only then i knew that one of the ways to give birth to brilliant kids is by doing a lot of mathematics exercises during the pregnancy period.or any kind of exercises that need very critical thinking to solve.

maybe i'll need to hunt for calculus or pure maths books when the time comes.
